Hey guys!!
Today, I am back with my first official post ever about my family trip to Mexico! We went in celebration of my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary with my cousins and it was a blast! Read through the rest of this post to hear about what we did, ate and more!
Travel and Where we Stayed//
From where I live in KC, it took us two plane rides to get to Puerto Vallarta (KC to Dallas and Dallas to PV), and then a 45 minute drive to Punta de Mita, where we rented a large house to fit all twelve of us. The resort it was located in was the most beautiful place with cobblestone streets and colorful flowers all over, which really made it feel like paradise.
What we Did//
In the beginning of our vacation, we spent most of our days at the Punta de Mita Beach Club (where I may have had too many piñatas (virgin piña coladas));) and while we were there we did numerous activities like paddle boarding, laying out, and looking for cool seashells on the beach! Then, every night we would go back up and watch the sunsets on full display while we talked and laughed about our adventures of the day. One day in particular, my grandparents booked us a snorkeling experience where we took a small speedboat out to an island and then all hopped in the water for a tour of the best fish in the area. While we were on the boat trip, we stopped by a local island and saw the rare Blue Footed Boobie (lol right) which is actually extremely rare and is only found in one other place- the Galapagos Islands. Before this, I had never snorkeled before so this was my first experience and I would definitely go again other places! While we saw many neat fish and sea creatures (such as a sea turtle) on the little tour, the coolest experience happened at the Punta de Mita beach- there was a shark sighting! I sadly didn't see it myself, but one man who worked at the beach renting surfboards said it was reportedly 2-3 meters long or 7-9 feet! Eeekk! Finally, the last night we all gathered at our favorite spot at the beach club and took family pictures at sunset to remember our time in Punta de Mita, Mexico for my grandparent's 50th anniversary!
What we Ate//
We were also lucky enough to have two helpers in the house (one chef and one housekeeper) who made sure our house was kept orderly and also made the BEST authentic Mexican food in the whole entire world (especially the enchiladas)! We mostly ate breakfast and lunch at the house, then would try new restaurants in Punta de Mita every night like Sí Señor and Los Agaves which we all mainly gave a 10/10 to. One morning we decided to try a local coffee shop because unlike in the US or KC in particular, the closest Starbucks was 54 minutes away:( BOO! At Boca Deli, I ordered a Iced Vanilla Latte which was also super yummy and tasted more organic than Starbucks or any other place we have at home. As for the most important meal of the day, DESSERT, we tried a variety on our 7 day trip including: blackberry cobbler, churros, etc. all of which couldn't be beat! All of it was well worth the many hours I will need to spend at the gym now LOL.
Now for a collection of trip photos! (including a few outfit pics)
