Welcome Back! I haven't been very active on my blog webpage for a little while now since my Mexico blog post (because I worked all summer and started school), and for that I am very sorry! That being said, I am very excited to bring you a special post in collaboration with my new blogger friend, @lavintlane, Lauren Elizabeth! We decided to bring you two posts, one on my page looking back on my favorite 5 pieces of summer and another on her page, looking forward to FALL fashion!! You can find her post here: lavintlane.weebly.com/flash-forward-faves! Read on to see my SUMMER 2018 favorites!

Pick #1:

BODYSUITS

My first choice for my roundup of my favorite items for summer is bodysuits!! This one is my personal favorite as it was the comfiest and softest material and had the cutest ruffles on the straps. I also wore more solid color ones such as a gray and red one which looked wonderful with a solid white skirt or a jean one! If you wish you could have rocked a bodysuit this summer, but didn't have a chance, don't worry because you can still wear them into fall paired with some jeans and booties!

Rainbow & Striped bodysuit:

from @etiquetteboutiquekc (a local boutique)

Pick #2:

FUN JEAN SHORTS

My second item I chose for my picks are fun jean shorts!! I love having multiple pairs of different jean shorts- ones with pockets, fringe, stitching, etc. so that they can spice up any graphic tee look! These ones pictured were my most-worn of the summer and are great classics to have in your closet! If you still want to wear shorts into the fall, you can! Pair them with a lightweight sweater and you've got a look!

1st pair with pocket:

from PacSun

2nd pair:

Levi's from Anthropolgie

Pick #3:

LIGHTWEIGHT PATTERNED DRESSES

My third choice for top 5 summer items is patterned dresses! These pictured are lightweight and were perfect for all the activities I did! Anything from stripes to flowers make for the cutest dresses and paired with some platform sandals like these ones from Steve Madden pull the look all together. Wear your dress into fall with a jean jacket or cardigan and it will be perfect for any event you have!

1st dress: black and white T-shirt dress from Target

2nd dress: white linen dress with navy and red stripes from All In Favor in Nordstroms

Pick #4: GRAPHIC TEES

My second to last pick for my must-haves from summer 2018 include graphic tees!! If you know me, you would know these are my go-to everyday outfit that allows you to look cute, trendy and put together fast! These ones were my two favorite I wore this summer, as you can see if you check out my blog on instagram, @lovedbyrileyb! The best way to pair these tees are with jeans (shorts or pants) or any other type of solid bottom that will better accentuate the cute wording written. If you didn't get to wear all your graphic tees this summer, wear them into fall with jeans or even a jean jacket with shorts. Either way you'll be right on trend!

1st tee: kansas city honey from a local boutique, Trendz in Leawood

2nd tee: good vibes shirt from Sub-Urban Riot found in Nordstroms

Pick #5: ACCESSORIES (SUNGLASSES)

My last choice (since I could only choose 5 for this post:() is the basic pick of sunglasses!! My favorites this summer were basic ones like my aviators from Ray-Ban (pink and black/gold) and fun ones which I got from Quay Australia! These ones shown are mirrored gold aviators and tortoise frames with blue lens both from Quay and they make a pop to your look! I dress them up and down, mostly down for the pool and beach, but I just love how different frames make your face look put together even if you have no makeup on (my trick haha)! Continue to rock your sunnies even into the fall- I predict that big lens will be the must-have item with your basic fall attire!

1st pair: Vivienne 64mm Aviator Sunglasses from Quay Australia bought from Nordstroms

2nd pair: Quay Australia Don't Change sunglasses bought from Revolve
